The 2026 Black Maternal Health Week (#BMHW26) theme, “Rooted in Justice & Joy,” marks a powerful milestone as we celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Black Mamas Matter Alliance (BMMA).

As a proud member of BMMA, Black Women for Wellness joins this national movement in honoring a decade of transformative movement-building dedicated to nurturing thriving families and shaping a liberated future grounded in justice, healing, and joy.
#BMHW26 uplifts the leadership, expertise, and lived experience of Black community-based organizations as the foundation for advancing equity and achieving transformative, sustainable improvements in Black maternal and infant health.
It calls for strengthened collective action, underscoring the essential role of collaboration among Black-led organizations, advocates, birthworkers, policymakers, and communities to drive advocacy, shape policy, and amplify community-rooted solutions.
