kitchen divas

The Kitchen Divas program hosts healthy cooking classes that include professionally guided, educational discussions and peer support. The program works to reduce the occurrence of nutrition-related health risks and increase well-being through instruction on healthy cooking, preventive lifestyle practices, eating habits, and physical activity for women of all ages.
food distribution

Food Distribution serves the purpose of providing community members the opportunity to learn about eating according to the season by providing bi-weekly distribution of Organic Produce. Our desire is to reduce the risk of illness and disease by allowing food to be our medicine, community to be our safe haven, and food justice is our pursuit.
body matters and movement

Body Matters and Movement is a new physical movement initiative for SIM. This program is designed to inspire physical movement and activity among Black Women and our sister-friends.
diabetes prevention program (dpp)

The Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), Change Your Lifestyle. Change Your Life. (CYL2), works in partnership with the Black Women’s Health Imperative and in a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which is a National Diabetes Prevention Program provider.
wellness wednesday

Wellness Wednesday engages our community by exploring various healing modalities through experiences, panels, and hands-on exercises. We gather to share, learn and thrive together.
wellness guide

Our Wellness Guide is created with Black Women in mind, first and foremost. It contains recipes, music, mantras, books, reflection, journals, tips and images of Black women in efforts to inspire, support and encourage self care and health on our own terms.
