A WATER GUIDE

Check out the updated version of BWW’s Drinking Water Guide for South Los Angeles, a comprehensive guide designed to offer you the information you deserve about your drinking water! Our Environmental Justice team is working towards water equity for South LA residents, to ensure that everyone has water that is accessible, affordable, and clean.

This 2026 edition of our Water Guide is broken down into 3 sections:

• Section 1. This section presents context and history of our drinking water, by illuminating the obstacles to water equity nationally and locally. Dip into this part of the guide to learn about the connection between water and reproductive justice, where our tap water in LA comes from, and how climate change is connected.

• Section 2. This section focuses on what you can do at home if you have water concerns! Feel free to jump straight in to find resources on choosing a water filter for your home, low-income assistance programs in LA, bottled water vs. tap water, and much more.

• Section 3. Check out this brand new section of our guide to learn about our water equity work here at BWW, and what we’ve learned from community members over the years! Read about ways that our built environment in South LA can be transformed to support a cleaner and healthier water future.
