The Birthing Tree Community Lactation Room is officially open!
Over 100 people were in attendance witnessing this celebration.
Reinvent South Stockton Coalition Black Birth Equity Initiative along with partners Black Women for Wellness, Dignity Health / St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Health Plan of San Joaquin, San Joaquin County Public Health Black Infant Program, and other Birth Equity leaders joined in celebrating the grand opening.
We also like to thank the African American Chamber for delivering the ribbon cutting, as well as Senator Susan Talamantas-Eggman office and Assemblymember Carlos Villapudua’s office for their recognition at the State of California level.
The Birthing Tree Community Lactation Room is open to every birthing person looking for safe and legal place to breastfeed or connect to help from 6 am to 8 pm Monday thru Friday. We are now taking enrollments.
Our Birthing Tree Community Lactation Room Mural Unveiling was presented by our partner Matt Amen in the Huddle Co-Work Space. Kia Duras-Carter is a world renowned native born South Stocktonian.
