Smile, Roxy! Community Table Read

Join us for popcorn, appetizers, and an intimate table read of Smile, Roxy!—a short romcom about two Black lesbians navigating their relationship, their bodies, and their beliefs about motherhood in a world not built for them. While fictional, the film is inspired by writer-director Ama Anane’s journey to motherhood.

This 90-minute gathering includes a 15-minute live table read with actors, followed by a 60- minute open discussion. Learn more about Ama’s creative process and share your reactions, thoughts, and questions with her as she continues to refine the script.
