SLA/SB AIIMM CAT’s Integrated Community Solutions (ICS) Workgroup will be hosting a “Know Your Birthing Rights Workshop” on Saturday October 7, 2023 from 11:00am-2:00pm at Galilee Baptist Church.
This FREE educational and empowering workshop will educate SPA 6 community members on their birthing rights and how to self-advocate!
We will have two educational presentations on birthing rights facilitated by SoCal’s Legal Alliance for Reproductive Justice and the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles. We will also be hosting a dynamic and powerful panel discussion to highlight topics such as: patient-centered care, informed consent in birthing rights, the impact of medical interventions as they relate to a person’s preferences, legal and ethical mechanisms in place to address violations of birthing rights, and much more. The goal of this workshop is to educate and empower Black moms and families within the South LA community.
Light refreshments will be served. Community resources will be shared. Ample street parking is available.
