About Dr. Ruha Benjamin

Dr. Ruha Benjamin is a prominent scholar and sociologist known for her work at the intersection of race, science, and technology. She holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley, and currently serves as an Associate Professor of African American Studies at Princeton University.

Benjamin’s research explores the social dimensions of science, technology, and medicine, with a particular focus on how these fields intersect with issues of race, inequality, and justice.

One of Benjamin’s notable works is her book “Race After Technology: Abolitionist Tools for the New Jim Code” (2019), in which she examines how racial bias and discrimination are encoded into technological systems, from facial recognition software to predictive policing algorithms.

About Jerrika Hinton

Jerrika Hinton is an American actress known for her roles in television series and films. Hinton gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Stephanie Edwards in the long-running medical drama series “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Hinton’s acting career began with various roles in short films and guest appearances on television series. However, it was her role as Stephanie Edwards, a surgical resident at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, in “Grey’s Anatomy” that brought her significant attention.

Hinton’s talent and versatility as an actress have earned her praise from audiences and critics alike. She continues to be an active presence in the entertainment industry, appearing in a range of projects across different genres.
