CHERELLA J. NICHOLSON

2025-2026 Beauty Justice Fellow at Black Women for Wellness

Cherella J. Nicholson serves as the Project Manager for the TEACH Program (Training in Early Abortion for Comprehensive Healthcare) at Black Women for Wellness. In this role, Cherella supports the coordination, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of programmatic and research activities connected to reproductive justice, provider education, community engagement, and systems change.

Cherella brings more than 17 years of experience in community and economic development, nonprofit strategy, capacity building, research, and evaluation. She holds a Master of Science in Urban Studies from Georgia State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, grounding her work in community development, public policy, and systems-level thinking.

Her work is rooted in dignity-centered practice, racial equity, and the belief that Black women and communities should have voice, power, and agency in the programs and institutions that affect their lives. At Black Women for Wellness, Cherella is honored to support efforts that strengthen reproductive justice, accountability, and more equitable systems of care.

Outside of her work, Cherella enjoys reading, walking, traveling, and creating welcoming spaces for people to gather and connect. She is also the owner of Queen Haven Events & Community Space in Inglewood.
