MERON SHITA
CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, PROGRAM MANAGER
Meron Shita is a semi-recent transplant to Los Angeles, originally hailing from the Fresno, CA. She graduated from Fresno State University with a Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) with an emphasis in Health Promotion. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology for the University of California, Riverside.
She is experienced in resident-driven community development and program planning, implementation and evaluation. She has served hundreds of residents each year through programs and services geared toward food inequity, green space access, and early childhood literacy.
Meron is currently serving as the Civic Engagement Program Manager for Black Women for Wellness. In her role with the organization, Meron is responsible for managing outreach efforts to disseminate information to LA County residents around the electoral system, social and reproductive justice issues, and environmental justice concerns.
