About Earth Day
Earth Day is an annual event celebrated around the world to demonstrate support for environmental protection.
First celebrated in 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EarthDay.org (formerly Earth Day Network) involving over 1 billion people in more than 193 countries.
The day aims to raise awareness about the environmental issues facing our planet, such as pollution, deforestation, and climate change, and to encourage people to take action to protect the Earth for future generations.
Activities include planting trees, cleaning up litter, advocating for policy changes, and educating communities about the importance of environmental stewardship. Earth Day serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility we share in preserving the natural world.
