LANAYA BLACKWELL
Policy Analyst
LaNaya Blackwell serves as a Policy Analyst for Black Women for Wellness and Black Women for Wellness Action Project. She ho a Masters in Psychology from Pepperdine University and Bachelor’s degree in African American Studies with a minor in Education from the University of California, Davis.
Since getting into public policy in 2021 LaNaya has advocated for a multitude of communities. From resource parents, foster parents, and other caregivers, to community based organizations that serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, to LGBTQ+ Texans. LaNaya has worked to pass policy in California and Texas, which has made her relentless and fearless when it comes to advocating for the communities that she cares about.
LaNaya is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated and has devoted her life to public service, not only professionally, but personally. In her free time LaNaya enjoys collecting vinyl records and listening to them as loud as her speakers allow. She also practices yoga and breathwork, which has been extremely important to her maintaining both physical and mental wellness.
