Carmen Taylor Jones serves as an Outreach Coordinator for the Black Women for Wellness’ VREAM Civic Engagement team.


Her previous position was that of 2020 Census Program Manager at Black Women for Wellness. She remembers always having a passion for serving the neighborhood and organized her first community event at the age of eight. She began her government career as the Chief Director of the US 37th Congressional District under the mentorship of the late United States Representative Juanita Millender-McDonald. She has served the community since then through outreach, education, engagement, and motivation. 


She established Higher Conscious Consulting LLC in 2011, a California firm that specializes in public relations. With a vision to encourage the public to become active and participate in change, the firm adopted its motto, “fight the good fight… because this time… the deck of cards is stacked in the favor of good.”


Currently, she is a seasoned Public Affairs Specialist in the Los Angeles area. She also maintains memberships on several Boards of Directors: The Greater Watts Development Corporation,  the 17-member LA County Continuum of Care Board,  National Council of Negro Women, SPA 6 Steering Committee, and she is a life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sisterhood.
